Welcome to Senior Triathletes, a website dedicated to those 50 years and over who are active in triathlon, preparing for their first triathlon, or just considering the sport.
Triathlon has changed my life. At age 58, I was overweight and sedentary. My doctor expressed concern about the trajectory of some key indicators of health such as blood sugar and cholesterol.
Preparing for a triathlon was the focus that I needed to lose the extra weight, change eating habits, and watch the numbers improve to an acceptable range. During my short experience with triathlon, I have found many more seniors with similar stories. I hope that you will find these stories to be informative and a source of inspiration.
SeniorTriathletes.com has been created to share the enjoyment that other seniors and I have gained from the sport and lessons that we have learned in preparing for and participating in triathlon events.
The ‘Our Stories’ articles describe races around the world from the perspective of seniors. I am constantly amazed – and inspired and motivated – by these stories.
The ‘Training’, ‘Racing’, ‘Nutrition’, and ‘Reviews’ sections provide information to help us become and stay fit and healthy. Finally, the ‘Triathlon Info’ section gives information about the sport that you can share with others who are less informed about the sport.
