Here are several articles related to triathlon training and planning for seniors that I came across over the past month. Several of these from this month’s finds should also inspire you to become and stay fit.


If your goal is to improve cycling performance for triathlon or other multisport races, this post may be for you. Included are ideas for planning your training and monitoring your progress.

Heart rate variability, or HRV, can be a useful metric to track your triathlon training. But, can a smartphone camera be used to measure HRV? This article looks at this question.

This post gives four benefits of warming up before a run and five tips for an efficient warm up. According to the author, the race or training run distance determines the best type of warm-up. To illustrate this, they suggest routines to warm up for distances from 5k through full marathon.


Residents of the active adult community Robson Ranch in southern Arizona put together a short triathlon. Their goal was to enourage residents to become more fit and train together. They also hoped to introduce others to the sport. The link above is a report run by the local NBC affiliate.
