More Information & Inspiration (March 2023)

Here are several articles related to triathlon training and planning for seniors that I came across over the past month. Several of these from this month’s finds should also inspire you to become and stay fit.

Information

I love the caption for the first picture in this article: “Among the sea of information regarding nutrition is a tide of inaccuracies.”

Sleep is an essential part of our rest and recovery. In Triathlon For a Healthy Brain—Pat & Joan Hogan’s Story, we learn that sleep is a time for healing. This article presents ten habits that will give us the best possibility for restful, healing sleep.

There are many thoughts about running, both among runners and those who don’t. Myth #10 in this article is “Running Is Only for the Young and Fit”.

In correcting this myth, the author refers to the Galloway Run-Walk-Run method which we learned about in Hilary Topper’s triathlon story.

Inspiration

Here is another amazing story of perseverance. The author of this story compares this senior triathlete to the Timex watch and its proverbial ability to ‘take a licking and keep on ticking’.
