Survey: Nutrition for Triathletes After 50
At Senior Triathletes, weโve been expanding our coverage of topics that matter most to endurance athletes after 50 โ not just training and racing, but also recovery, strength, healthy aging, and nutrition.
Nutrition is one of the most personal and sometimes confusing parts of the endurance sports experience. What works well for one athlete may not work for another. Over time, many of us discover that our nutritional needs and priorities change as we age.
Some athletes are trying to:
- improve race performance,
- maintain energy during training,
- recover better,
- lose weight,
- improve blood sugar or blood pressure,
- maintain muscle,
- or simply stay healthy enough to continue enjoying the sport for years to come.
During my own triathlon adventure across all 50 states, nutrition became an increasingly important part of the process. Along the way, I lost about 50 pounds and improved important health markers including blood pressure and blood sugar. But like many athletes, much of what I learned came through trial, error, observation, and conversations with others.
That is one reason I would appreciate your input.
This short survey will help shape upcoming articles and resources related to nutrition for triathletes after 50. As with our previous community surveys, the goal is not scientific research, but practical insight from experienced athletes navigating similar challenges.
The survey should take approximately 3โ5 minutes to complete.
Thank you for helping us continue building a resource shaped by the experiences of senior triathletes themselves.
Your experience may help another athlete continue training, racing, and aging well.
